Franklin County
Franklin County is in rural Arkansas with a population of approximately 17,000 people and 16 county-operated buildings. The county’s annual electricity consumption is approximately 870,000 kWh with service from two different utilities.
Our Work:
Clear Energy developed a solar array design and layout capable of offsetting 99% of the county’s previous twelve-month kWh usage in each of the utility service areas. An energy analysis was performed of the electric bills for the county’s buildings and we worked with the county and utility companies to locate appropriate sites in each utility area. Site testing was performed and coordinated with the utility companies to determine interconnection requirements.
The scope of work included development of cost estimates, procurement of materials, oversight of construction, coordination of final testing, verification that the system was performing as designed and ongoing periodic reporting.
The Results:
The first array has been completed, is online and is performing as designed. The second array is currently in final development to be completed by the end of 2024.
