Case Study

Madison County

Clear Energy was contracted to evaluate a solar opportunity for Madison County, Arkansas and also evaluated lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, exhaust and plumbing systems for 73,364 square feet of County-owned facilities. The evaluation assessed current conditions, identified energy efficiency opportunities and recommended replacements or upgrades of existing systems.

Our Work:

The cornerstone of the project was a 205 kWdc solar array to be owned by the County.  The scope of work also included replacing HVAC units that used R-22 refrigerant and certain other identified units, retrofitting of interior lighting to LED, addition of window film, air leakage remediation, installation of efficient flush valves and aerators, implementation of computer power management and installation of uninterruptible power supply on critical systems.

The Results:

Building and equipment related energy conservation measures (ECMs) were completed in October 2022. The solar array was placed in service during August 2023. Performance to date has resulted in achievement of the expected savings.
