Stan co-founded Clear Energy in 2006 with a desire to offer clients a transparent partner who could save them money on their energy and operating costs. His background in the corporate world provided the perfect springboard to launch the business. Stan’s 30-plus years in the energy industry include serving as Walmart’s director of energy, where he managed all aspects of the retailer’s domestic energy budget. He oversaw facility retrofits, was a team leader on initiatives that reduced greenhouse gas emissions and energy use, managed projects in deregulated electricity markets, and developed innovative contract structures to lower procurement costs. Stan also has served on the boards of several companies and, among other things, is the current chair of the University of Arkansas Technology Development Foundation.
Shawn has 20-plus years of experience performing ESCO, energy efficiency, and clean energy projects. During this time, he has served as President, COO, and CRO of companies that provide turnkey energy solution and clean energy projects nationally. He has successfully implemented processes and tools that have allowed the businesses to scale while providing a great customer experience. While leading a region for an ESCO, he incorporated carbon reduction strategies that led to enhanced project scopes that were paid for with energy savings, grants, and incentives. Most recently, Shawn has been supporting ESCOs as a contracting partner. In the past three years, he has been involved in over 100 ESCO projects for public and federal clients. Shawn resides in Houston, Texas where he lives with his family. He is an active volunteer with the Texas Children’s Hospital and the Houston Food Bank.
Skip brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the Clear Energy team. He oversees project development, guides construction projects, and is involved in all other aspects of the business. As a master electrician, journeyman plumber, and licensed HVAC contractor, Skip brings a wealth of contractor skills to Clear Energy. His initial interest in energy work began when he was responsible for purchasing energy performance contracts. He recognized their value and later jumped at the opportunity to help grow our business. Skip has expanded our capabilities in renewable energy markets like solar. His career includes work on more than 50 projects that have resulted in performance contracts with lifetime energy savings of more than $200 million.
